Doritos Chips Are Being Pulled From Grocery Stores Due To Undeclared Ingredients - Yahoo Life

Around 7,000 bags of Nacho Cheese-flavored Doritos chips were recalled by maker Frito-Lay earlier this month from stores, food service locations and vending machines across Pennsylvania.

The voluntary recall was issued by Frito-Lay due to undeclared soy and wheat ingredients usually used in the Spicy Sweet Chili-flavored Doritos tortilla chips having possibly gotten into the Nacho Cheese-flavored Doritos chips packages in question. Those with allergies or severe sensitivities to soy or wheat run the risk of illness if the product were to be consumed, the brand said in their notice, as the Nacho Cheese flavor does not usually contain these ingredients.

Doritos Chips Recalled From Stores Across Pennsylvania

The products covered included a "limited number — less than 7,000 bags" of 14.5 oz. and 1 oz. Doritos Nacho Cheese-flavored Tortilla Chips. According to the brand, "The products covered by this recall were distributed at retail stores only in Pennsylvania and other outlets, such as foodservice locations and vending machines. Consumers would have been able to purchase the chips as early as June 29, 2023." No other Frito-Lay or Doritos products, flavors, sizes, or variety packs are part of the recall.

The specific recalled product information is as follows: Doritos Nacho Cheese Flavored Tortilla Chips in 1 oz. and 14.5 oz. sizes, UPC code either 0 28400 09089 6 or 0 28400 51779 9, with BOTH guaranteed fresh date of 26 Sept 2023 AND manufacturing code/time stamp of 465218034 / X 22:47 - 22:54, or BOTH guaranteed fresh date of 26 Sept 2023 AND EITHER one of the two following manufacturing codes and time stamps: 465218037 / X 22:47 - 22:59 or 465218137 / X 23:00 - 23:06.

No allergic reactions or illnesses have yet been reported due to the ingredient mix-up, but it is noted that if consumers have an allergy or severe sensitivity to soy or wheat, and have purchased products of that variety in Pennsylvania, they should not consume the item and should discard immediately.

Shoppers with any questions can contact Frito-Lay Consumer Relations at 1-800-352-4477 (9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. CST, Monday-Friday). Messages can also be sent to Frito-Lay via their contact page here.
