Ingredients by Nature acquires Sytrinol heart health ingredient from Lonza - Nutritional Outlook

Citrus ingredients specialist Ingredients by Nature (IBN; Montclair, CA) has acquired the Sytrinol heart-health ingredient brand from Lonza. Sytrinol is a blend of palm tocotrienols and citrus flavonoids clinically shown to help support healthy levels of cholesterol, triglycerides, and LDL, and improve the LDL:HDL ratio.

Ingredients by Nature is especially interested in combining Sytrinol with one of the company’s other citrus-derived ingredients: its Eriomin lemon flavonoid ingredient that supports healthy levels of blood glucose, inflammation, and oxidative stress. “Excessive blood glucose has been linked to unhealthy cholesterol and triglyceride levels, so by adding in Sytrinol’s heart health benefits, the combo may have even greater potential for prediabetes management and cardiovascular support,” the company said in a press release.

Ingredients by Nature now owns the Sytrinol logos, web domains, and human clinical trial, patent, and marketing data. “IBN knows the formulation of the ingredient intimately, having manufactured the Sytrinol formula for many years prior to the acquisition,” it adds. “This includes years of experience manufacturing citrus-derived polymethoxylated flavones (PMFs), a key ingredient in this newly acquired blend of citrus and palm fruit extracts.”
