Drake's Favorite Cocktail Is a 3-Ingredient Affordable Boozy Beverage - Showbiz Cheat Sheet

It’s always fun to learn about your favorite artists and celebrities, including their favorite things to eat and drink. But some stars, like Drake, make it pretty well-known what they prefer to sip on in their free time. In fact, one of the rapper’s favorite boozy beverages just happens to be a three-ingredient, super-affordable drink you can enjoy at home, too.

Drake shares his favorite drinks

If you don’t know Drake, you haven’t watched much TV or tuned into the music scene. Drake first broke into the entertainment industry playing the role of Jimmy Brooks in the popular teen show Degrassi: The Next Generation. He portrayed the character for seven years before breaking out as a rapper.

It wasn’t long before Drake made a name for himself as a music artist, with hit songs like “One Dance,” “Hotline Bling,” and “Take Care.” He signed a music deal with Lil Wayne’s label, Young Money Entertainment, and the rest is history. Drake lands in the news often. Jay-Z even called him the Kobe Bryant of hip hop.

Whether Drake is sharing details about dating Rihanna or promoting his label OVO Sound, Drake always has something to share with his fans. And he’s not shy about promoting his favorite tasty beverages. The 35-year-old even rapped about one of his all-time favorites because he loved it so much.

Drake’s favorite cocktails and boozy beverages

It’s no secret that Drake is a fan of good cocktails. He even started his own liquor brand, Virginia Black, in 2016. This blend melds the aromatic flavors of 2-4-year Bourbons with a high-rye mash. The Virginia Black Decadent American Whiskey costs about $62 to buy and was recently launched in Australia earlier this year, reports The Spirit Business.

Drake isn’t ashamed to share his love of wine and wine spritzers, either. Whether you’re checking him out on Instagram or watching his interviews, the 34-year-old hip-hop star almost always has a wine glass in hand.

While in Turks and Caicos back in 2019, Drake and his pal Chris Brown were on the tennis court with their wine glasses. XXL reported Drake’s comment, “Spritzer Season,” to commemorate the trip.

The rapper has a love of cocktails. For example, in 2011, his song with Lil Wayne called “The Motto” talks about his absolute favorite drink in the first verse. “We got Santa Margherita by the liter.”

Refinery 29 says there are other celebrities, like Katy Perry and Kourtney Kardashian, who prefer to drink Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio, too. But it’s Drake who claimed to have found this wine, once posting, “Santa Margherita, the real thirst quencher.”

Santa Margherita is a Pinot Grigio, or white wine variety, that hails from the Adige River Valley in the Italian Alps. It’s usually considered a more “versatile” sipper, with a dry taste and aromas of golden apple. The kicker: A bottle of this beloved beverage is only about $18.

Drake shared his three-ingredient recipe for his white wine spritzer à la his favorite Pinot Grigio:

  1. Perrier carbonated water
  2. Peach Schnapps
  3. Santa Margherita wine

For a guy who’s worth around $100 million, you’d think Drake might prefer a more expensive tasting cocktail. But a quick scroll through his social media, it’s clear that the Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio is his absolute favorite. The multiplatinum-selling artist certainly enjoys his wine.
