Flowers Foods has recalled two brands of glazed pies because they contain an allergen that is not listed on the label as an ingredient.
Tastykake and Mrs. Freshley’s glazed pies in various flavors were distributed from Sept. 26 to Oct. 6 nationwide.
The pies have an “enjoy by” date of Oct. 18 through Nov. 7.
According to an announcement with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the pies were recalled because it was discovered that an ingredient in them includes soy.
People who are allergic or sensitive to soy, could have a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they eat the pies.
Recalled are:
- Tastykake glazed apple, UPC 0-25600-00972-7
- Tastykake glazed caramel apple, UPC 0-25600-08618-6
